Life As We Know It: Hudson is 1!

It's sad but true...the day has come and gone and my last baby boy is now a 1 year old! It was definitely a bittersweet day for me because I love watching him grow into the precious little guy he's becoming but I also hate that the "baby" in him is disappearing way too quickly! He is such an absolute joy to have around and makes me smile and laugh on the worst of days. His brothers adore him and he happily reciprocates their love! He thinks he's one of them and tries his best to keep up with them every chance he gets. He is absolutely our little ray of sunshine with his happy, easy-going nature and we're so thrilled to call him ours. Happy Birthday Huddy Buddy! We love you more than you will ever know - you really are an amazing little being:).

At one, he sleeps through the night, usually from 8:30 or 9pm until 7:30am and takes two naps a day, typically from 10:00am to 12:00pm and again from 3:00 to 5:00pm. He loves most foods so we're hopeful he will not be the picky, quirky eater that Cooper is! His favorites are fruits, macaroni and cheese, cheese quesadillas, bites of chicken, edamame, field peas, sweet potatoes and snacky things like goldfish, graham crackers, and trader joe's crack popcorn. He's almost completely done nursing (once again bittersweet) and has done really well transitioning to regular milk in a sippy cup with a little drinkable yogurt mixed in. I'll be very thankful in a day or so to not be nursing a 1 year old, squirmy boy but it's just another sign that he's getting too big too fast! He says bye bye, mama, nunu, george, ball, and very occasionally he'll throw out a dada. We've been begging that one out of him but he's showing us his stubborn side for sure. He's walking like a champ all of a sudden and is so proud of himself that he can toddle around so quickly on two feet! We haven't been for his 1 year check-up yet but I'm anxious to see how big he is - his brothers were both 19+lbs. at a year but I have a feeling he'll be 20+...we'll see!

We just had a low-key party at our house to celebrate his big day and I think everyone had a great time, especially the honoree!

He still loves his newborn soothie paci's but we're planning to start making them a crib-only accessory in the next few days.

Hudson was so happy to have Nunu come to his party:). He is so sweet with her and I love so much that he'll go right to her...what a true blessing it is to have family so involved and close by!
