Baby Hudson
What a difference a week makes...it's hard to believe that this time last week I was anxiously awaiting my induction the following day! Sweet Hudson made his debut at 12:44pm on Monday, October 25th. He weighed 6lbs. 14oz. and was 18 inches long. He has been such a joy and perfect little boy ever since! Everyone is adjusting much better than I ever anticipated - Carter and Cooper can't get enough of him and are so sweet and helpful so far. I wish I could put a video on here of how often I hear "Baby Hudson" as they both refer to him. I can already tell he will hopefully be the "icing on the cake" so to speak in the Bass family. We are trying to love every minute as I already know just how quickly it goes...I'm already sad to say he's a week old tomorrow.

Not quite sure about this new place!

Nana and Ashley came to meet Hudson!

Proud Pop with grandson #3!
The cutest and best big brothers I've ever seen!
All 4 of my boys (minus sweet Woody of course)!
I just love all the happy faces - it makes my heart smile.
The new and improved Bass family of 5 - yikes!

Proud Nunu who was the biggest help I could have ever asked for. She's been here for me this past week and has made my transition home so easy! Thank you so much mom. I know I'll never be able to fully express how much I love you and appreciate all you do for us.
They loved holding Hudson in the hospital and were even good at taking turns!

Poor Hudson's little head but he survived.

Ashley and Brian were so sweet and helped out with the boys the 1st two days when I was in the hospital. Carter and Cooper love them so much and I know Hudson will too:) Thanks guys!
More happy faces

Sweetness.
Mello Yellow. Hudson has had a little bit of jaundice that we've had to keep getting checked but so far no need for bililights thankfully. He's been quite the mellow little boy so far and only really fusses when he's hungry or needs a new diaper.
Going home in a few minutes

Sweet kisses from Daddy.
Checking out the sunshine for the 1st time.
Here we go!
And we're off.
Our greeting squad was the cutest thing I've ever seen!
Shy Cooper
"Raff" meeting Hudson and Carter showing off his sheriff hat.
I love you Brian, thanks for being there for us!

Proud Carter
This is how Carter "plays" with Hudson, by surrounding his sleeping head with toys!

Fun Things To Do When 9 Months Pregnant!
Most sane people would use pregnancy as an excuse to avoid things like the State Fair but call me a glutton for punishment I suppose. I've been joking with Jamey about the fair for some time now and he's always acted like I'm ridiculous for wanting to go to the dirty, stinky fair just before having a baby. I remember that it wasn't the most fun I'd ever had in years past but I just think it's one of those things you subject yourself to just for the sake of doing it!
I worked my last shift Wednesday night, got home around 8:15am and hopped into bed for a quick nap before picking the boys up at school. We came home for a quick lunch and I begged and pleaded with Jamey to please let us go just for the afternoon! He gave in and off we went to the crowded, over-priced spectacle we call the fair.
We didn't tell the boys we were going until right when we were getting in the car but their excitement was priceless and worth every bit of money we spent or smelly things we encountered. We started at the pony rides and moved on to Kiddieland where they rode a roller coaster and Carter did the swings. Jamey unfortunately had to leave us just after the roller coaster and poor Coop was heartbroken that he couldn't do the swings because he was too little. I tried to talk the operator into letting me ride with him but he wasn't about to let a pregnant lady on! We chose the rest of our rides carefully so that they did things Cooper was tall enough to do without an adult to avoid future breakdowns! They had so much fun and finished off the afternoon with a candy apple, cotton candy, and gatorade. I'm so glad we went and had our last little outing as a family of four!

Fall, Finally!
Our weather has been anything but "fall-like" so far this October but things are starting to feel a little more seasonable and I couldn't be happier about it! I don't really understand why but I find true happiness in open window weather like we're starting to have!
While Carter was at school today Cooper and I went on what felt like a scavenger hunt all over Cary to find some decorations for our porch. We had good luck and the boys were excited to have something on our porch for a change! I mentioned that we'd have to get some pictures soon and they wanted them "now" so that's just what we did! If Carter could wear his costume every second of the day he would but he's thankfully happy putting it on after school and taking it off around bedtime or for outings. He's definitely graced Harris Teeter and the library with it a few times so far but we're trying to make it last until Halloween by limiting how much he wears it!

This is one from last week at the pumpkin patch that Sarah took. Looks like pumpkins, football, and Halloween aren't all we have to look forward to this month - we'll get to meet our new little boy soon too! I'm still feeling good, almost 38 weeks right now and I only have 3 more shifts of work so thinking of it that way definitely makes it easier to handle! My parents are actually in Jackson, MS for a tennis tournament this weekend so I'm trying to take it as easy as possible so that I don't do anything to put myself into labor when they aren't around! Anyone who knows me knows just how much I like to "take it easy" so we'll see how it goes!

Pumpkin Patch
Friday my good friend Sarah and I took our boys to the pumpkin patch for the morning. I think all 4 boys had a great time and it was great to have some company for me too!
The rare shot that included all 4 of them!
Not quite sure what's up with Carter's face but they were having a blast in the hay maze!

Wrestling in itchy hay sure looked fun!

Cooper on the caboose
One of my favorites - I love it when I can find one picture I LOVE out of the million I take!

On the hay ride...
Don't we look excited!

The tongue helps with concentration.

A sneak peek at halloween...if Carter's costume can survive the daily wear it's getting before then!

Well Checks and Koala-Chu's
Carter came home from school the other day very eager to tell me about his busy day!
C - Mommy, I had a busy, busy day today. I got to be the door holder, which meant I had to hold every single door for every person in my class all day long. Oh but Mommy, my friend Corinne got in trouble and had to go to time out because she spitted in my face.
Me - Oh goodness, that wasn't very nice. What did your teachers tell Corinne?
C - Mrs. Rana told her that she had to sit in time out with her back to the class and then tell me she was sorry because spitting wasn't nice. Oh, but Mommy, Mrs. Rana got to bring her little dog to our class today! It was called a koala-chu!
I'm guessing he meant chihuahua since I emailed his teacher for a little clarification...she definitely got a kick out the new breed invented by Carter though!
Cooper had his 3 year well check up last week and everything went fine. He's doing all the things a 3 year old should, talking, gaining weight, etc. He was 30lbs on the dot and 36 1/2 inches tall. As he was sitting on the exam table in nothing but his cute little boxer briefs, he started poking out his bottom lip and pouting all of a sudden. When I asked him what was wrong he said in his pouty little sad voice, "Mommy, me wish me had a baby in my tummy so, so much for my check-up!" He's been with me to my past two appointments so I guess he thinks everyone who needs a check up needs to have a baby too!
On an addendum to this post, I somehow forgot to mention how awesome Cooper has done giving up his paci. He's only had his green soothie (newborn) pacifiers in his bed for naps and bedtime but it has definitely done a number on his front teeth! I had planned for 3 to be the big take away time so just before his pediatrician's appt. I talked to him about how big 3 year olds don't really need paci's anymore and that they're for babies. He seemed ok with the idea so I took them away at nap time that same day and he hasn't missed a beat since. I'm so relieved to have that hurdle behind us and so proud of my big boy!
