1. Carter received a real rocket from the Easter bunny and one June afternoon seemed like the perfect time to give it a go. Jamey and Carter had to assemble it all so it was quite a task and the launch was highly anticipated by all of us! We went to a field near our house that has plenty of room so we'd be able to see all of the action and not lose the rocket, so we thought! We were all poised and ready and watched happily as the rocket blistered into the air on the first try. Cooper and Jamey were the last to see the "silver arrow" as it disappeared high above our heads into the sky. It had a parachute and should've come floating back down a few minutes later but we could never find it! We searched high and low until we finally declared it a loss. We pass the field all the time and Hudson will say, "that's where we lost Carter's rocket!"
2. Next came July 4th and our pool festivities...Carter and his friend Ryan were declared joint winners of the 13 and under belly flop contest after three brutal rounds of flops! Carter was so cute and excited for the competition to start as he'd planned his trick earlier in the day. He went to the edge, yelled timber, and fell flat on his skinny tummy, not once, but three times! His popsicle prize was well-deserved!
We had dinner at my mom and dad's house and then headed outside for some firework fun of our own followed by the Regency Park real fireworks with some friends.
3. The POOL! We have lived at the pool this summer and all three boys have loved every second of it. Carter has always been a fish but has had much more fun this year as he has more friends to play with at the pool. Cooper has come a very long way and can now do the diving board and swim the length of the pool. He is so proud of himself as are we of course! Hudson is the scariest of the bunch and will jump off any side of the pool at any moment, regardless of whether there is someone there to swim to! He can swim short distances and spends more time underwater than any two year old I've ever seen. Fearless is an understatement and he would love more than anything to be allowed to do the diving board and slide!

4. On to the first birthday to celebrate...my dad turned 60 July 8th so we headed over to their house for a fun celebration!
Carter picked out Pop's card and it was so, so sweet. I think it might have been my dad's favorite birthday moment!
5. Rain! We have had a very wet summer but we've made the most of a few rainy days with the help of buckets and puddles.
6. Beach trip...we went to Wrightsville for a week with my parents and Brian and Sarah. We had such a fun time together and didn't want our week to end! We stayed on the beach all day almost every day and were blessed with awesome weather the whole time.

My dad's best friend, Mr. Yaeger came for a night and the two of them beat the tar out of their corn hole competition. I think they one at least 5 games and were undefeated!
Jamey and I took the boys to the battleship on one of our last days there. They liked it but Cooper was hilarious and definitely took on a "mother hen" approach with it all. He would freak out if Hudson stepped anywhere he shouldn't be and was quick to tell us where we could and couldn't go! Hudson loved climbing up and down the narrow, steep steps while cautious Coop whimpered the whole way up or down!
One of their favorite things to do is walk the docks to check out the boats and dogs!
Everyone had a turn with the boogie board in some form or fashion! Carter was able to really get the hang of it.
Cooper loved paddleball and was actually really good at it. I think his rally record was 16 in a row!
He also smoked us at bocci!
7. Swim team was a lot of fun for Carter again this year. He aged up to 7/8, which is usually not a lot of fun because he's got pretty tough competition in the 8 year olds but he had fun and ended up having a great summer swim season. We were so proud of him for winning the coaches' award again this year!

8. Next on the birthday list is Nunu, who turned 60 on July 26th. My dad was out of town until late that night but Brian and Sarah came into town and we all had fun celebrating my mom's big day with her at their house. We had to do it at her house because little did she know we had big plans for them the next day!
9. Surprise! What had been in the works for months finally came to fruition on July 27th. My brother and his wife and Jamey and I had planned a joint 60th surprise party for them at our house with their closest friends and family. I don't know exactly how we did it or how we kept it a secret but we were successful and my parents had a great time at their party as did hopefully everyone! It was so good to see family members that we don't see very often and great family friends. It meant so much to us and to my parents for everyone to come! Jamey worked his behind off in our yard, totally redoing all of our shrubs and taking down about 10 trees in the process. It was definitely an adventure I won't forget anytime soon but we both lived to tell the tale! Brian and Sarah were so helpful in keeping my mom and dad away, as a giant pig cooker on our street would've probably given us away! Sarah also was the brains behind all the decorating and flowers, which looked just perfect. It was so fun but never could've happened without two amazing parents to celebrate and three awesome people ready and willing to help in Jamey, Brian and Sarah! Thanks so much for making it such a fun and memorable time!

Gene, Caprice, and their son Christopher Corbett have been longtime friends of ours. I used to babysit Christopher and now he's off to college this fall. Gene and my dad worked together years ago and we've loved their family so much!

10. I turned 33 on July 29th so the last of the birthdays in this post anyway is in the books! It was a great day spent with my sweet boys and sweet mom at the pool followed by a fun night at home with everyone. Jamey was so sweet and surprised me by making my favorite drink from Punta Cana, which made my night! I'm a lucky girl!
11. Baseball has started for Coop, just as Carter's baseball finished. He's having fun and really does love the game. It doesn't hurt that he's pretty good at it!
Now I will try to stay more up to date on my posts so I don't have to have the longest post ever to cover 1 1/2 months worth of time!
