Carter's TK Family Day

With preschool coming to an end soon, there have been lots of cute celebrations that we've had the pleasure of attending with the boys. This picture is from Cooper's class for Mother's Day. Not the best picture after way too little sleep, but his nice teacher took one of each child with their mom and gave it to us so I had to include it! They were all lined up when we came into the class and sang us a sweet song and then served us each cupcakes. Cooper was precious and I was bursting with pride because he actually sang and was the loudest of the bunch! Even his teachers were shocked!

Carter's class had a Family Day celebration where we were able to come and eat breakfast with him. They started out by singing a song about family, hence the "Y" Carter and his bud are holding up down below. One of his teachers is so creative and they make the coolest stuff! This picture is us in front of the me Carter made - too bad he's covering me up! He was very nice and neglected to add the gray hairs that are increasing in quantity by the day like some other kids did for their parents! As a sidenote this picture is typical Cooper - looking silly, not smiling, and dirty first thing in the morning but I sure love him to pieces.
Carter also made a picture of Jamey, which took a little hunting to discover which one he was because he's much darker than we were anticipating! That's him above Carter with the green shirt and red tie.
I'm going to be an absolute wreck next week when my "baby" graduates from preschool. Every little song he sings about saying goodbye that he's learned for their program makes me teary so I can only imagine how bad it will be on the actual day! Mom, if you can go ahead and FedEx me a xanax, I'd be forever grateful:).

Class picture - I'm partial but Carter sure is cute!

Random to be in this post but Carter and Cooper caught a few caterpillars while they were at my parents' house that they were so excited to watch spin cocoons (chrysalis as Carter says). Not the prettiest of creatures, but here's a picture of the end result! Carter was precious and came running up to me and said, "Mommy, something amazing has happened! My chrysalis turned into a butterfly!"
Carter with his main teacher Miss Velma. She is so sweet and just the perfect kindergarten teacher.

Mother's Day and More!

We hadn't had the chance to see Ashley in ages (agents as Carter and Cooper say!) so we were all thrilled that she was planning to come hang out with us on Cinco de Mayo! The boys were not the best-behaved they've ever been but we had fun anyway and loved having her over. Hudson is so good about going to people so that makes it nice for me and Jamey to have a break from carrying around 16lbs!

Hudson is starting to come around to his solids but still heads straight to the bath after most feedings! Yesterday was actually the first day I didn't have to act like a lunatic and make him smile so I could shovel food into his open mouth so that was a definite plus!
He's also graduated to his big boy duck bathtub but his brothers are anxiously waiting for him to be able to get in with them in the real bathtub. It makes me tired just thinking about the energy of 3 boys in one bath! Cooper thought it would be a great idea for us to take Hudson's duck with us to the pool so he can just sail around while we swim! Oh if it could only be that simple!

We had a great Mother's Day and pretty much did a whole lot of nothing. I slept in after working Saturday night and we spent the rest of the day just hanging out together as a family, which doesn't happen very often, so it was wonderful! Sweet Carter made me a bracelet at school that he was so proud of, Cooper made me a cool votive holder and Jamey and the boys gave me a peony for our yard so I was definitely spoiled by all 4 of my boys.

I love Mother's Day not just because it's a day to celebrate me, but because it makes me think of all the awesome moms in my life that have influenced me beyond measure. I truly have the best mom in the world and love her more than anything. She and I have such a special bond and relationship that I can't even put into words how much she means to me and to our family. It makes me also think about my grandmother (my mom's mom) who passed away in 2006. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her and remember what an amazing woman she was and how lucky we were to have her in our lives. There was definitely only one Helen Breeden but I am so honored to have been named after her. I also think of sweet Granny, my dad's mom, and I know without a doubt what traits I have from her! She likes for things to be clean and I am absolutely the same way about our house! We miss her so much and don't get to visit her near enough as she lives in South Carolina, but we think of her and talk about her often with the boys!
Sweet Jamey played photog and was able to get a couple good ones of us in the front yard, but not without a million out takes!

And we have a winner:)

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! I feel so lucky to have the chance to be a mom to these precious guys - they truly are my heart and soul.

Hudson is 6 Months Old!

Seriously where does the time go? I can't believe my last baby has been around for 1/2 of a year already! He's growing up way too quickly for his mommy's sanity! The snuggly, little infant is long gone and a precious, sweet personality and boy is emerging instead. He weighed 16lbs. 6oz., which is the biggest of the bunch but only by a few ounces and he was 26.5 inches long. He's still napping twice a day for about 2 hours each time and heading to bed for the night around 8:30. He still gets up during the night usually only once but sometimes twice to eat. I think I'm probably part of the problem there - he'd more than likely be fine with a pacifier and back rub but it's honestly easier to just feed him and know he'll go back to sleep for good where a paci might buy me less time!

He sits up by himself until he sees something that intrigues him and then he topples over quickly in whatever direction said object is located! Sometimes it's a toy but most of the time it's to get to a big brother. He watches Carter and Cooper all the time and just stares at them as if to say, "I'll be right there with you soon and I can't wait!" He has definitely mastered rolling in all directions and likes to lay on his back and play with his feet. He is much more mobile than I remember the boys being at this age and does what we've named the worm as opposed to upright crawling. He'll get up on all fours and lunge forward, catching himself with his hands and chest and then lunge forward again until he's made it wherever he's headed! His speed is definitely picking up as he has bumped into the ottoman, tv, and exersaucer with his noggin on numerous occasions! I don't know who cried more, Hudson or Carter because he was sad to see Hud get hurt. He has also figured out the Johnny Jumper and starts jumping before his legs are even in the openings once he realizes that's where he's headed!

We're just starting solid foods and it's definitely a work in progress but I'm sure he'll quickly learn to love it. So far we've tried rice cereal with bananas, bananas, and sweet potatoes. We just can't get enough of this sweet boy and I really hope the next 6 months don't pass by quite as quickly as the first 6!

Hey, Hey, It's Your Birthday!

Jamey celebrated his 12th 21st birthday as Ashley put it on Wednesday and the boys and I had fun getting ready to help him celebrate! We made him this card (sweet Carter's idea) and made yummy cupcakes for his party, which was the best party ever according to Cooper;).

Poor Jamey had a meeting for church on his birthday but got home around 7 and it was party time! They were so cute and funny about Jamey's boring presents...books, a new shirt, and a few other goodies. Cooper couldn't understand why he didn't get lots of toys instead.

I love this picture! My four boys all together, smiling nicely, and looking at the camera - it's a rare occasion to say the least!

Carter raising his hand that he's ready to sing Happy Birthday.
Jamey of course got lots of help blowing out his candles...
...and watching the smoke from them was oh so cool!
These three, little guys are so incredibly lucky to have such an amazing daddy and I'm so blessed to have the best husband in the world! Jamey, you are beyond good to us - we feel so fortunate and love you more than you can imagine! I hope you had a great day!

Easter Fun

The boys and my parents couldn't get home soon enough last Friday! We missed them terribly and were thrilled to have everyone home for the holiday weekend. Sweet Sarah and Brian sent the boys some Easter goodies and they loved it all, especially the funny card as you can see!

One definite benefit of three boys is hand-me-downs! Here's Hudson styling in a little Easter outfit Jamey's mom bought for Carter when he was a baby, bunny shoes and all:).

Cooper and Pop on a Saturday bike ride. We saw a bunny hopping through a yard and the boys got so excited because they said it must be the real Easter bunny and he was out hiding some eggs!
We had an egg hunt Saturday afternoon and they loved finding their goodies and trading candy. I made them take pictures before hunting hence the uncooperative, fake smiles!
They were all business about finding eggs!

Now the fun part - let's see what we got and make sure we got the right amount!

Hard to believe this little guy will be running around the yard getting his own eggs next year - sigh.
Easter morning before church family photo. Getting everyone ready and out the door for early church is a definite challenge, but even more so when the Easter bunny has been by the house! I tried to talk the boys into leaving him a note and telling him to come to our house while we were at church but they weren't buying that deal. Their baskets were stuffed to the brim and I was all ready to capture the moment of them coming down to see what they'd gotten when Coop came flying downstairs without a stitch of clothes on! I refrained from snapping pics of his little heiny for your sake:) but they got lots of fun stuff...bubbles, chalk, candy, activity books, bats, balls, and a scooter for Carter.

I had an Easter outfit that I'd ordered for Hudson that I just couldn't wait for him to wear. Apparently he had other plans because about 10 minutes before we had to leave for church, Carter noticed Hud's outfit was less than presentable after his diaper didn't do the job containing the mess!
They're still cute but would be so much cuter if they'd just stand up and smile nicely!

Cooper was done with pictures and Hudson was sleeping but we had to at least try to get one of my parents and the boys before they headed back home!
Saying goodbye is so hard to do!

Hudson is trying so hard to crawl and definitely gets where he needs to by scooting, but I wouldn't call it crawling just yet!
My happy 6 month old.
Check out what the Easter bunny left for me!
I know he looks sad but I could just eat him up in this picture!
Who cares if Easter has passed?! He still had to wear his outfit at least for a picture!
