Goodbye July

July is almost over and I feel like this sweet, sweet summer is slipping away too quickly for everyone in my family!  The boys are already dreading the return to school and often ask how much longer until they "have" to go back!  I hate that they are already that negative about school as rising 3rd and 1st graders, but I think it has more to do with how much they love summer and not so much their dislike of school!  We've spent as much time as possible at the pool with swim team, swim meets, play dates, and family time.  To say we have three water lovers would be the understatement of the year!

July 4th our pool has lots of kid activities, like biggest splash contests, water balloon toss, coin dives, etc. and as much as Jamey and I toyed with the idea of possibly traveling for the 4th, our kids wanted nothing to do with that plan and wanted to be at the pool for the festivities.  Last year Carter won the belly flop contest but was unable to hold the title for two years as he dove instead of flopped this time around!  Hudson was the only 3 year old participant and gained several votes based on pure bravery and cuteness:)!

Here's Carter with his cannonball contribution to the biggest splash!

 Hudson's turn!

Little fish swimming quickly to the ladder.

We came home for dinner and little fireworks to get everyone excited about seeing the real ones that night.  They loved the sparklers and roman candles but as you can see Hudson wasn't much of a fan of the noise!

 The picture of safety!

Cooper is playing t-ball for the summer and loves it and does great but really wishes it was coach pitch!  Next year, buddy!

It's so nice having my parents so close as we are able to celebrate lots of happy times with them, like my dad's birthday!

We were able to visit Ashley and Andrew for a quick trip to see their new house and we also had a chance to hang out with some friends from college and check out their boat.  It was our kids first time on a boat for any length of time so they were initially shy and scared but obviously fell in love pretty quickly with the boat life!

 Coop's awesome boat hair!

 King of the ocean!

Love this one!

Hudson's self-titled boat dance!

We had a very hot but fun Pullen date with some great church buddies!

Happy Birthday to Nunu!

The last swim meet of the season was a fun one for everyone.  Carter and Cooper both had a good time and are already missing their fun swim season!

Cooper got the Coach's Award for 6 and under boys and we are all so proud of him!  Carter had a hard time with it as he's gotten the award the 2 previous years but it's a great lesson to learn that you have to celebrate and be happy for others as well as continue to be on your best behavior!

We will miss Coach Shane but look forward to a fun swim season next year with 3 swimmers, yikes!
