Mother's Day

Sunday was Mother's Day, which meant an unbelievably awesome day for me!  I slept Sunday morning after working and Jamey took the boys to church that am so I was able to get some quick, good sleep in a quiet house so that I could enjoy the rest of the day with the people I love!

Our pool always opens on Mother's Day and it always seems to be a rainy or cold day.  This year it just so happened to be both but that didn't stop our eager little children from begging us to let them go swim that afternoon!  I'm a sucker and aim to please so off we went to hop into the ice water that was the swimming pool.  Carter jumped right in and was a little fish, Cooper whined and cried about needing wings or else he would "sink", and Hudson would've probably been doing the butterfly if we let him get in any deeper.  Cooper warmed up to it after Jamey and I both got in and will hopefully come around even more as the year progresses.  Hudson seriously is going to be trouble this year and my mom insists he needs a life jacket.  I'm sorry but I'm not nor will I ever be the mom that puts her child in a life jacket in the pool with head to toe "sunproof" gear.  A bathing suit, some sunscreen, and some sort of flotation device that is NOT a life jacket will hopefully do just fine.  I'm hoping he'll like to wear wings but so far not so much!  Carter is doing swim team this year so I anticipate a lot of our time will be spent around the water so I hope everyone learns to love it!

We tried for a few pictures but didn't have much success as the thought of heading to Nunu's was just too much for these three, wiggly boys!

Happy Mother's Day!  I hope everyone had a great day!

Splish Splash

Carter and Cooper were dying to play in the sprinkler last weekend after soccer practice so I decided it was the perfect chance to break in the slip and slide this year!  We only tried it once last year and Cooper was too scared and Carter got stung by a bee for the first time so we started with a bang I suppose!  This time was much more fun for all involved parties thankfully - even the neighbors decided to come out and give it a try!  They were freezing but didn't seem to mind too much and were all smiles for our messy afternoon of fun.

On a completely unrelated topic, Jamey gave me a peony for Mother's Day last year.  I love them so much and was ecstatic to one of my very own!  When I got the plant, it had already bloomed but was still pretty green foliage in a little pot.  My mom has quite the green thumb so I wanted her advice on where to plant it so that it would thrive and with them moving here last June, I kept it in the pot until she was able to be here to help me find a spot.  I guess we all became a little busier than we had planned and totally forgot about my sweet, new plant.  We never planted it and I'm a little embarrassed to say that we left it on our back porch all year long!  I'm never out there much but was thinking to myself at the kitchen sink just a few weeks ago that I really needed to throw away that tacky pot of sticks that was once a beautiful plant.  My mom happened to be over that day and walked out to take a closer look at it, only to realize it had come back and had 4 blooms on it.  I was so excited and could hardly wait for it to bloom!  They were beyond pretty and made our entire kitchen smell so good.  Jamey, this year I promise it will find a home in the ground very soon:)!

Spring Soccer

Soccer has started back for the boys and they are really having fun with it this year.  They love being on the same team and are all smiles on the field during their practice and game.  Coop's friend Charlie is on the team this year too, so they have a lot of reasons to be having a good time with their buds.  Carter has really "gotten it" all of a sudden and is doing well dribbling, turning, and controlling the ball.  He has scored in every game but one so far.  It's so cute because I don't know who is more excited when he scores, Carter or Cooper!  He is definitely the first one to Carter to congratulate him whenever he does score!

Who wants to have fun?!

Love these happy boys

Thankfully there is plenty of room to run so Hudson has a blast too and doesn't cause too much of a headache for us during the games!

Pre-game strategy talks!

Happy Birthday Jamey

Jamey celebrated his 33rd birthday last Friday.  We didn't do too much, just had my parents over for dinner and let Jamey choose his meal for the night, which was ribs.  They were great and so was our night!  The boys were so excited about having his cake and singing to him so we did dessert before dinner and showered him with all his birthday goodies.  He racked up with a new wardrobe, watch, and workout clothes.  Jamey, you are the best dad, husband, and friend in the world and I feel like the luckiest girl alive to have you for my very own.  We love you so much and hope you had a great day!

All ready to serenade the birthday boy!

Hudson thought the cake was delicious but refused any help of course.

Saturday night my parents watched the boys and we went to a concert with some friends.  Other than being much colder than we thought it would be, we all had a good time and enjoyed a night out very much!
