Easter!

We had an action-packed Easter weekend this year!  I worked Friday night so we started in on the festivities Saturday afternoon after swim.  Cooper, Hudson, and I dyed eggs and big boy Carter decided to play outside with his buddies instead.  Next came our Easter egg hunt at Nunu and Pop's.  The boys all three loved every bit of that and were very quick to find their 20 eggs each!  Coop and Carter were so sweet to find their own and then help Hudson find all of his.  We spent most of the night at my parents and headed home with sleepy but excited boys ready to see what the Easter bunny would leave for them in the morning.  Sunday was a whirlwind of getting everyone up and ready for church a little earlier than normal.  Adding the Easter baskets and a puppy into the mix made for an interesting morning but we thankfully made it to church with a few minutes to spare!  The Easter bunny has our stamp of approval as all three boys loved all of their goodies.  Carter's big thing was a model rocket, Coop got a scooter, and Hudson got a leaf blower that blows bubbles.  They were quite spoiled to say the least!

I don't know if his eyes could possibly be any bluer!

Hard at work!

Hudson was a big help with the stickers:).

We laugh that Carter has done a complete 180 in his attire these days.  He used to have to be wearing topsiders and a polo or button up to even walk outside but now it's comfort all the way!

I sure look cute and innocent but don't believe it!

Easter morning is finally here!

Peeps, they're what's for breakfast.

Love this sweet profile.

A bit of a camera shy Hudson after church.

Love these boys!

Still not really feeling picture time!

Someone was nice enough to offer to take our picture together but unfortunately they didn't think Cooper was worthy of more than hair in it:).

Chocolate bunnies are the best!

Loving my new blower!  Harry is hilarious and chases after the bubbles like a crazy dog.  On a side note, warm temps, please come soon, Hudson is busting out of his 2T clothes!

Perfect life for a two year old, a puppy, bubbles, and a breeze!

Coop has really learned how to ride his scooter well in just a few days!

Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend as well!  We are so blessed to have such happy, healthy, and fun boys with family close by to enjoy every second of it.  God is good!

Heels for Healing Run

Last weekend we headed to Chapel Hill for an early morning of fun.  A friend of mine works for a charity that was sponsoring a run called the Heels for Healing 5K.  They also had a kids fun run so I thought it would be a good thing for us to all do together.  Jamey runs but hates the idea of running in 5Ks but was nice enough to do this one with me!  Ashley and Andrew came and hung out with the boys while we did our run and then the boys had their chance to show their speed;).  Carolina's head football coach Larry Fedora started the race and couldn't have been nicer to us and the boys.  He talked their heads off and they loved every second of it, especially Carter!

Almost time to run, can you tell it's early for us!?

Jamey was "so" excited to have his very own number that he proudly wore, not!

The fencing team was there to entertain the kids and Carter loved having the chance to wield a sword!

Hudson was a little shy for the first part of the morning so Ashley got her upper body workout in by lugging his heavy self around!

Love these stairsteps...they thought they were too cool for school with their numbers!

The many faces of Cooper!

Fun Run time!

Carter was all business and sprinted his little head off on their 1/2 mile trek.

Cooper was all business as well and had a sweet girl run with him and cheer him along.  I was honestly amazed he finished without walking but he did great!

Here comes Carter in 2nd place!

Almost to the finish line to get his medal!

One Tired Cooper!

Admiring their hardwear!

We had such a great time and thanks so much to Ashley and Andrew for coming and helping us!

Harry and Friends

This family is still quite smitten with our newest addition, especially Hudson.  He wants to know where Harry is and what he's doing at all times!  Today Jamey was taking him to the vet and Hudson cried for a good 10 minutes and kept saying, "Mommy, want my puppy back!  Tell Daddy bring Harry Potter back our house!"

Hudson and Harry both love our play tent!

BFF's

Coop cheesing it up.

These two sure look like trouble!

They definitely have a love/hate relationship.  Hudson can't leave Harry alone and Harry will definitely fight back on occasion!

Coop was so proud to be holding a "wheel wizard" as he says it!

Brian and Sarah came to visit for the ACC tournament weekend and we so loved having their fun company! They are always so sweet to our boys and now to our new pup.

Uncle Brian is so much fun!

 What, I didn't do anything!

Poor Hudson has scratches all over his face from laying down and playing with Harry.  He's so tough and barely even cries about it while Carter and Cooper squeal like little girls at the first scrape!

Carter loves to hold Harry like this, poor dog.

He sure is getting big fast, 16+ pounds today at 12 weeks!

Rallying

Cooper has really loved playing tennis again and taking lessons a couple days each week.  His favorite part by far is rallying, or hitting it back and forth with the pro so I had to let you see him in action!

What is a Boy?

Carter is taking First Communion classes at church right now and this past weekend we needed to bring a record of his baptism.  I have a prized possession called a memory box that my grandmother gave me for my college graduation where I like to keep lots of special things in one place, like their baptism records.  I was looking through it and found this little gem that my grandmother had given me when I had Carter.  It's a really old brochure that came from the hospital in Bennettsville, SC where she was a volunteer called "What is a Boy?" and I fell in love with it so I thought I should share it for all my boy parent friends.

Between the innocence of babyhood and the dignity of manhood we find a delightful creature called a boy.  Boys come in assorted sizes, weights, and colors, but all boys have the same creed: To enjoy every second of every minute of every hour of every day and to protest with noise (their only weapon) when their last minute is finished and the adult males pack them off to bed at night.

Boys are found everywhere - on top of, underneath, inside of, climbing on, swinging from, running around, or jumping to.  Mothers love them, little girls hate them, older sisters and brothers tolerate them, adults ignore them, and Heaven protects them.  A boy is Truth with dirt on its face, Beauty with a cut on its finger, Wisdom with bubble gum in its hair, and the Hope of the future with a frog in its pocket.

When you are busy, a boy is an inconsiderate, bothersome, intruding jangle of noise.  When you want him to make a good impression, his brain turns to jelly or else he becomes a savage, sadistic jungle creature bent on destroying the world and himself with it.

A boy is a composite - he has the appetite of a horse, the disposition of a sword swallower, the energy of a pocket-sized atomic bomb, the curiosity of a cat, the lungs of a dictator, the imagination of Paul Bunyan, the shyness of a violet, the audacity of a steel trap, the enthusiasm of a fire cracker, and when he makes something he has five thumbs on each hand.

He likes ice cream, saws, Christmas, comic books, the boy across the street, woods, water (in its natural habitat), large animals, Dad, trains, Saturday mornings, and fire engines.  He is not much for Sunday School, company, schools, books without pictures, music lessons, neckties, barbers, girls, overcoats, adults or bedtime.

Nobody else is so early to rise, or so late to supper.  Nobody else gets so much fun out of trees, dogs, and breezes.  Nobody else can cram into one pocket a rusty knife, a half-eaten apple, 3 feet of string, an empty Bull Durham sack, 2 gum drops, 6 cents, a sling shot, a chunk of unknown substance, and a genuine supersonic code ring with a secret compartment.

A boy is a magical creature - you can lock him out of your workshop, but you can't lock him out of your heart.  You can get him out of your study, but you can't get him out of your mind.  Might as well give up - he is your captor, jailer, your boss, and your master - a freckle-faced, pint-sized, cat-chasing, bundle of noise.  But when you come home at night with only the shattered pieces of your hopes and dreams, he can mend them like new with the two magic words - "Hi Dad!"
